Tree Removals

Sometimes trees can be in a poor condition and pose a risk / threat to the safety of people and property
Or trees planted in urban areas can often grow too big for their location,
In both the above cases tree removal is one option.
Acorn tree services will always offer a non biased/ honest opinion

Tree Surgery

This includes; tree reductions, pruning, shaping, crown lifting(removing lower branches), and removing dead limbs

It is essential for certain trees to be maintained in an Urban environment to  protect the public and buildings whilst still providing greenery and habitat.

Hedge Maintainance

We carry out small and large scale hedge trimming and reductions,  we are able to offer a maintenance schedule based on your specific requirements, ensuring your hedges look their best all year round
We remove hedges and stumps in preparation for fencing, re-planting or building works

Hedge Laying

Hedgelaying has great conservation and wildlife value. It mostly takes place every 15 years or so with periodic trimming in between to encourage regrowth and to keep it tidy. Hedges can last indefinitely when maintained in this way
Hedgelaying takes place between autumn and early spring.  It is avoided outside these periods to avoid disturbing nesting birds and trampling plants growing in and by the hedge which could contravene the Wildlife & Countryside Act.
An assessment of the suitability of your hedge can be carried out free of charge

Planting

The UK is one of the least wooded countries in Europe with only 4% native woodland cover. But we need at least twice as many native trees and woods for the sake of wildlife and people, to combat climate change and improve our environment.
So, if for any reason you have had to have a tree  removed and would like to replace it or would simply like to plant a tree,  we can help you. We offer a comprehensive service.

Stump Removal

Stumps can be removed easily by machine to a depth of 2ft approximately.  Stumps can also be treated without chemicals if they are not being removed.

Tree Preservation and Conservation Orders

Certain trees,( TPO’s or Tree Protection Orders) and areas (Conservation Areas)  are protected by local councils and any work would need to be approved by the LPA prior to any work commencing.  If you don not gain said permission you could face  affine of up to £20,000

TPO’s or Tree Protection Orders are legally enforceable orders to protect trees and woodland in the interests of public amenity. TPO’s would prohibit the cutting down, uprooting, topping, lopping, wilful damage or wilful destruction of protected trees or woodlands. A TPO can be placed on all types of trees, including hedgerow trees but not hedges, bushes or shrubs. The Order can protect individual trees, groups, areas or woodlands, where it is considered that they make a significant visual contribution to the locality and are of benefit to the general public
Conservation Areas - are areas of special architectural or historical interest with a character or appearance that is desirable to preserve or enhance. Trees may often contribute to the special character of the area. All trees in a Conservation Area are subject to controls which enable the city council to protect the special character of the area created by the trees

Acorn Tree Services would ascertain the status of said trees and complete any application forms needed and follow up the application  FREE OF CHARGE
